Initiative III:

NextGenCAMA

initiative III: NextGenCAMA is a project by The Enlighten Project in partnership with NextGenCAMA. This initiative is designed to aid in integraing computer science into the curriculum for students across a network of learning centers in Cambodia. This initiative reflects our commitment to equipping young learners with critical skills and opening new avenues for their future.

Our campaign focuses on introducing foundational computer science education, particularly in coding, by utilizing high school volunteers passionate about the subject. These volunteers are pivotal in delivering educational support that teach more advanced students essential programming skills using platforms like Scratch and Python. Additionally, we provide computer science training for instructors to ensure the sustainability of the program.

Program Details:

  • Instructor Training: Equip teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to teach more advanced coding and logical thinking to students

    • 1-on-1 instruction for each teacher

  • Student support chat: Provide constant support for students to review and share ideas

    • Group chats for each center, continuous message exchanges to assist students

  • Curriculum/project development: Develop engaging programs, project ideas, and even competitions to maintain student interest

    • Biweekly meetings with instructors and helpers to brainstorm and plan interactive and fun activities, such as coding competitions or theme-based projects

This initiative not only aims to enhance career prospects for these students but also fosters creativity and critical thinking, essential for thriving in a technology-driven world. By promoting computer science education, we are paving the way for a generation of problem-solvers and innovators in Cambodia.

We invite you to join us in this transformative endeavor, whether as a volunteer teacher or a supporter, to help bring computer science education to Cambodian students and create lasting impact in their lives and communities.
