Initiative II:

Massachusetts

Initiative II: Massachusetts is a focused outreach by The Enlighten Project at Lee High School in Lee, MA, aimed at enhancing the educational experience of ESL students. This new campaign aims to connect these students with a diverse group of pen pals to improve their English skills and expand their cultural horizons.

Our campaign involves establishing a Pen Pal Program specifically designed for ESL students at Lee High School. Through this program, students will be matched with volunteers who can provide insights into different cultures, share experiences, and engage in English language correspondence. This initiative not only aids in linguistic development but also fosters global awareness and friendships.

Pen Pal Program Details:

  • Matching Process: Each student will be paired with a volunteer, ensuring a good match based on interests and educational goals.

  • Regular Correspondence: Pen pals are expected to exchange letters or emails at least twice a month. These exchanges will help students practice their English in a real-world context, improving both their writing and reading comprehension skills.
